Maundy Thursday Choral Eucharist (2 Apr 26)

Rev Jo Saunders led our service for Maundy Thursday (the Thursday before Easter part of the Great Triduum, the last three days of Holy Week).

This service recalls the Last Supper and includes a re-enactment by members of the congregation of Jesus washing his disciples' feet, a symbolic act calling us to love and serve each other.

At the end of the service the church is stripped of all its linens representing Christ being stripped before his crucifixion.

After the service members of the congregation remained in a darkened church in the solemn vigil of the Night Watch which reminds us of Christ's invitation to his disciples to watch with him in the Garden of Gethsemane.
