Together at Christmas & Captain Noah (Sep & Dec 23)

September and December were busy times for the church and its choir.

In September, The Church Choir was delighted that children from our Church School joined them to sing in this popular cantata.

10 children attended rehearsals regularly on Tuesday and Thursday mornings at 8.15a.m. including a Sunday afternoon and Friday afternoon in Church.
We had great fun and the children sang enthusiastically under the expert direction of John Wardle, our Musical Director, and Jenny Harris, Choir
member and Parish Administrator, who was choreographing the children’s actions and movements. They also performed a couple of the songs during the
school assembly to show their peers what they had been rehearsing for over the past few weeks.

It was wonderful to have the huge support from headteacher, Mrs. Julia Exton, staff and parents.

Our rector, Canon Rachel Watts, was greatly involved in supporting us and welcoming them all to our Parish Church.

A great evening was had by all and well supported by parents, our church congregation and community. We hope we can continue to involve the
children in other church events in the future.

On 2nd December, the Parish Church hosted one of 12 National Community Carol Services representing the whole of the East Midlands based on an initiative by the Princess of Wales supported by the Royal Foundation and the Prince & Princess of Wales.

Our Lord-Lieutenant of Rutland, Dr Sarah Furness, represented the Crown in hosting the event locally ... we were honoured that she chose Uppingham to represent the County and our region in this national event.
